Little black dress

First of all this post is a tribute to Tubino Nero (in English "little black dress"), my blog friend that gave me the Liebster Award....
The little black dress, according to fashion historians, was "invented" by Coco Chanel in 1926 when a picture of a short "petit noir" was published in American Vogue.

 Prima di tutto vorrei precisare che questo post è un omaggio a Tubino Nero che mi ha insignito del Liebster Award.....
Secondo gli storici della moda, il tubino nero fu "inventato" da Coco Chanel. Nel 1926, in particolare, un disegno del "petit noir" fu pubblicato da Vogue America.

The little black dress became so popular due to the fact that it was simple and accessible for women of all social classes.

Il tubino divenne popolare per la sua estrema versatilità e semplicità, accessibile alle donne di tutte le classi sociali.

One of the most popular LBD was the one worn by Audrey Hepburn in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany designed by Hubert de Givenchy and auctioned in 2006 for £ 410,000 (six times it's original estimate).

Certamente, uno dei tubini neri più famosi fu quello indossato da Audrey Hepburn nel film Colazione da Tiffany, disegnato per lei dallo stilista Hubert de Givenchy e battuto all'asta da Christie's per una cifra record di 410.000 sterline nel 2006.

Ladies and Gentlemen yesterday my blog friend of Tubino Nero gave me an award: the Liebster blog award!!!

I really appreciated it! One of my very first awards (and I'm not talking only about bloggers.....)!

Liebster in German means favorite, dearest, beloved and it's for bloggers with under 200 followers.

ieri la mia blog amica di Tubino Nero mi ha insignito di un importantissimo premio: il Liebster Award!!
Evviva!!
Sono contentissima!! Uno dei miei primi premi (...e non sto parlando solo della mia carriera di blogger....)!!!

Anzitutto mi preme precisare che Liebster in tedesco significa preferito, adorato, affezionato ed è un riconoscimento rivolto ai bloggers che hanno meno di 200 followers.

Le regole sono le seguenti:
1. ringraziare il blog che ti ha premiato;
2. linkare il blog che ti ha premiato;
3. copiare ed incollare l'immagine del Liebster Blog;

The Dolce e Gabbana "Italianity"

Amazing! This is what I thought looking at the new Dolce e Gabbana spring/summer 2012 collection. And I'm not talking (only) about the dresses, the bags, the shoes.....I'm talking about how this brand was able - again - to associate it's style with the Italian tradition, to put together all of the Italian clichè in a few picks. Isn't it a sort of  "Italianity"??

Incredibile! Questo è quello che ho pensato guardando la nuova campagna pubblicitaria primavera / estate 2012 di Dolce e Gabbana. E non sto parlando (solo) dei vestiti, delle borse, delle scarpe.... Sto parlando del modo in cui questo brand è riuscito ad associare il suo stile con la tradizione italiana, del modo in cui riesce ad unire in un solo scatto tanti stereotipi. Non è una sorta di "Italianità"?

Same as in the past campaign, with guest star Madonna or Monica Bellucci.... But is REALLY this the idea that people have of Italians? Do they think we are all spaghetti and wine - wearing black dress with charming men following you down the sunny streets- family picks with husband son daughter parents parents in law grandparents grandparents in law ? That is REALLY the image of Italians??

Lo stesso nelle passate campagne pubblicitarie, protagoniste stars del calibro di Madonna o Monica Bellucci...Ma è DAVVERO questa l'idea che gli altri hanno di noi? Siamo tutti spaghetti e vino - di nero vestite mentre camminiamo per vie assolate con uno stuolo di uomini affascinanti che ci seguono - fotografate con la famiglia al completo, marito, figlio, figlia, genitori suoceri e nonni? E' DAVVERO questa l'immagine degli Italiani??

No Celine show, Phoebe is pregnant!

Have you heard? Celine has officially cancelled the show in March during the Paris fashion week because it would be to stressful for Phoebe - the art director - as she is expecting a baby in April. The show would be replaced with an informal presentation.
Is this the sign that a woman can balance her professional and private life?
Or she became so powerful - commercially speaking - that even a huge company as LVHM has to follow her decision?
in other words....it's a STRONG message or Philo is a STRONG business woman?

Avete sentito? Celine ha ufficialmente cancellato la sua sfilata durante la settimana della moda parigina a marzo perchè sarebbe un evento troppo stressante per la stilita Phoebe incinta ormai di otto mesi. La sfilata verrà sostituita da una presentazione più informale.
E' questo un segnale che i tempi stanno cambiando e che una donna può trovare un equilibrio tra la sua vita professionale e quella privata?
Oppure lei è diventata così indispensabile al brand (commercialmente parlando) che anche un colosso come LVHM si è dovuto piegare a questa decisione?
In altre parole: è un FORTE messaggio o Philo è una FORTE donna d'affari?

Hello! Yesterday I received a wonderful gift from my friend Mariarita of Koi! That is one of those events that makes me happy! It is an amazing pendant with a tree and little shining stones.... the friendship tree! Do you like it??

A kind of Birkin

my new neoprene Birkin bag!

I took a look to the rockandfrock's new post this morning, about the paper copies of some amazing bags....but while I was bringing kids at school I was thinking that there is no space in my (mummy) life for paper bags....a paper bag might be destroyed in half a day...
Of course I LOVE  Birkin, and that is the reason why I bought a neoprene copy in a yellow fluo colour a month ago in Leghilà temporary store....I guess that the brand is new: those "Birkin alike" bags (available in 2 different sizes) are washable and are given with their own washable bag!! take a look, you can buy them on luisaviaroma online store....

Stamani - come sempre - ho dato un'occhiata al nuovo post del blog rockandfrock. Parlava di una nuova linea di borse di carta, copie esatte delle più belle borse in circolazione.... In effetti, mentre portavo a scuola le bimbe, pensavo che una borsa di carta non è adatta alla mia vita (di mamma), la distruggerei in mezza giornata!
Ovviamente io AMO la Birkin e questa è la ragione per cui ne ho comprata una copia in neoprene di Leghilà gialla fluo qualche tempo fà nel temporary store che avevano aperto qui a Roma. Penso che il marchio sia nuovo: la copia della Birkin è disponibile in due misure e sono lavabili a 30 gradi! e ti danno la sacca in cui devi mettere la birkin (!!!) quando la lavi in lavatrice! geniale!.....le potete comprare sul sito di luisaviaroma....
